Season 3 Episode 21 – Denise Philips

On this week’s episode, I sit down with Denise Philips.

I always wondered about Denise where she got her fight, determination and outlook on life. I couldn’t put my finger on it but I always knew there was something about Denise and it wasn’t until this podcast I find my answers

Denise is a warrior, not just an IVF Warrior but as she opens up for the first time about grief.

The death of her boyfriend at just 23 years of age and the rekindling of a relationship with Mark in the mists of his struggle with addiction.

Denise has been through so much and for her to go on and build a hugely successful business and brand, be the wonderful mother and wife we see today is a testament to her strength, empathy, and determination.

Thank you Denise for sharing with us, you deserve every bit of happiness you have today

Season 3 Episode 12 – Ruth

On this week’s episode, I sit down that Ruth Barry.

This was one of the most eye-opening sit down’s I have ever had.

Ruth wears her story well, no longer in active addiction, Ruth has encountered more tragedies than bears thinking.

When she was just 11 years of age Ruth’s sister, her idol, dies in a horrific incident that rocked Ruth’s family and started her on her journey of self-destruction and addiction.

Ruth faced tragedy after tragedy through her years in addiction and it was while in prison that Ruth made the decision to get clean and threw herself into every opportunity prison life gave her to get sober.

Ruth’s story is as heartbreaking as it is powerful, the woman in front of me fought her way out of addiction and saved herself with the tools prison gave her, She continues to save herself every day with the help of good people, running, and Reiki but above all the love of her children.

Season 3 Episode 6 – Katie

On this week’s episode I sit down with Katie Keyes. This is Katie’s first time to sit down to talk about April story and her nervous laughter come through as a coping mechanism as she articulates April’s journey.

Just before April’s third birthday, she is diagnosed with neuroblastoma.

The treatment plan resulted in April been cancer free in the January, only to relapse in the match and 14 days after her seventh birthday April suffered a massive stroke on Friday the 13th 2019.

Katie was extremely nervous going into this and it took a lot for her to sit down with me but she handled it with so much strength and courage.

Stay strong Katie, I will always keep you, April and Graham in my thoughts and prayers.

Season 3 Episode 5 – Julie aka Twins & Me

On this week’s episode I sit down with Julie Haynes also known as Twins And Me. Julie is one of Instagram‘s biggest personalities but behind this persona has been the hardest three years of Julie‘s life, her hopes of a new life with her partner and babies dashed because of a Visa issue and when her partner decides to go and leave, Julie is left homeless and heartbroken.

Episode 10 – Chantelle

On this week’s episode a beautiful young lady sits before me, she is full of nerves , she tells me she doesn’t know what to say and doesn’t understand why you the listener would be interested in her story.

I have no words for Chantelle’s strength, at just 24 years of age she is a mother of two and a guardian of 4. We chat through losing her dad to prison at 3 months and losing him again to cancer at 10. We discuss the years of abuse she suffered at the hands of bullies who tried to tear her apart with mental torture and verbal attacks.

But Chantelle wasn’t alone in her journey, with 3 woman behind her , Maureen, her nanny and her mother Kelly, a woman who she describes as hearing her before seeing her, A woman who touched every person she met.

These woman got her through those terrible times, but then tragedy struck for the third time, Kelly her mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer  and at the age of 40 died leaving 4 children behind.

This is a story of how a community rallies and a young girl who day by day is trying to fulfil her mother’s dying wishes.

This was the most difficult to date there was lots of tears and lots of pauses, her story to so raw but truly inspirational and needs to be heard. We hope you enjoy it.

Episode 8 – Ryanair Direct

On this week’s episode sees the return of Marguarite Penrose,  we are joined by our good friend Julie Hanna and we chat through our time working together in Ryanair Direct.

Ryanair direct stands out as one of our career highlights not only because it gave us the tools and the training to set us up on the path we find ourselves today, but more importantly it gave us long lasting friendships, relationships and memories, which there are many.

From getting shot in the eye on a night out, to Michael O’Leary coming to the rescue of a hysterical colleague, to the many characters we worked with and the press trips that resulted in vegetable attacks and cracked windows.

This week’s episode is dedicated to our dear friend Kenneth. You will always be in our memories, when we talk about you it brings us together. Through you,  we will always be us.

There was no workplace like Ryanair direct unless, there was…
