On this weeks episode I sit down with David O Reilly.

David is one of Ireland’s biggest exports to the west end, from Greece, to the book of Mormon and heading to LA next year to start in everybody’s talking about Jamie.

However when we sit down we strip it back to growing up in Ireland, how he was horrifically bullied for being gay and the effect bullying had on not only on him but on his family.

We talk about the huge love and support from his mum and dad and a beautiful relationship with his brother Joe. We talk about moving from Kilnamanagh to Lucan and how his life changed when he headed to the UK to follow his dreams.

We talk about landing his role in Greece, starring in Benidorm and performing alongside Jennifer Saunders and many more.

As With every podcast, David has opened my eyes to a different way of thinking and I had a couple of lightbulb moments.

Season 3 Episode 7 – Dwayne & Karl

On this week’s episode I sit down with Dwayne Edgar and Karl Taffe, cofounders of the inner-city Running club.

There is a certain je ne sais quoi about these lads and you would be wrong for saying it’s far from je ne sais quoi they were reared but that’s exactly how they were reared.

What these two guys have cannot be taught in any school but in the community they were brought up, in the flats in Dublin’s inner city.

Dwayne and Karl are two of the cleverest, determined young man I have ever met and I thoroughly enjoyed sitting down with them as they spoke about their club and how their members have become friends and family and, how the running club has helped them become the people they are today.

Two messers, this conversation is full of laughs but also from the heart this isn’t just any running club, this is the In The Inner city running club.

Episode 10 – Chantelle

On this week’s episode a beautiful young lady sits before me, she is full of nerves , she tells me she doesn’t know what to say and doesn’t understand why you the listener would be interested in her story.

I have no words for Chantelle’s strength, at just 24 years of age she is a mother of two and a guardian of 4. We chat through losing her dad to prison at 3 months and losing him again to cancer at 10. We discuss the years of abuse she suffered at the hands of bullies who tried to tear her apart with mental torture and verbal attacks.

But Chantelle wasn’t alone in her journey, with 3 woman behind her , Maureen, her nanny and her mother Kelly, a woman who she describes as hearing her before seeing her, A woman who touched every person she met.

These woman got her through those terrible times, but then tragedy struck for the third time, Kelly her mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer  and at the age of 40 died leaving 4 children behind.

This is a story of how a community rallies and a young girl who day by day is trying to fulfil her mother’s dying wishes.

This was the most difficult to date there was lots of tears and lots of pauses, her story to so raw but truly inspirational and needs to be heard. We hope you enjoy it.

Ryanair direct stands out as one of our career highlights not only because it gave us the tools and the training to set us up on the path we find ourselves today, but more importantly it gave us long lasting friendships, relationships and memories, which there are many.

From getting shot in the eye on a night out, to Michael O’Leary coming to the rescue of a hysterical colleague, to the many characters we worked with and the press trips that resulted in vegetable attacks and cracked windows.

This week’s episode is dedicated to our dear friend Kenneth. You will always be in our memories, when we talk about you it brings us together. Through you,  we will always be us.

There was no workplace like Ryanair direct unless, there was…
